I spent the last 4 days in Boulder, CO for the Team Rev3 Summit. It was the craziest and most fun 4 days I’ve had in a really long time. We met with sponsors, got updates from Rev3 staff, ate a ton, drank a ton, partied a ton and trained… some. I want to share all of the crazy and hilarious stories, but that’d take too long. I’ll try to see if I can remember just the best stuff.

After reviewing over 500 (!!!) applicants, we welcomed 13 newbies to the team this year, bringing the whole group up to 53 athletes from every corner of the country. I was one of the original members of the team 4 years ago and have a mini panic attack whenever new members join, being afraid that they will change this awesome team for the worse – ruining something that has become a major part of my life. Each year, they don’t disappoint and the team keeps getting bigger and better.

We got to visit Pearl Izumi Headquarters, meet just about every single employee and get an early peak at the 2013 products that will hit stores in a few weeks. The best part was that they weren’t just educating us about their products so we can be well-versed spokespeople for their brand. They genuinely wanted our feedback and were there to help us. For example, their director of marketing was down on the floor in the distribution center helping every single one of us find the right shoe size. We chatted with another product development employee about our favorite tri short features and how specific placement of the seams in tri shorts from their competitors made us chafe in our nether regions. They only made us promise not to send them pictures of our chaffeage (sp?).
We also got to meet with our other other sponsors: Tri Swim / Tri Slide, PowerBar, Biotta Beet Juice, Compex, NormaTec, Reynolds Wheels and Quintana Roo. They each have some really cool products coming out in 2013 and I can’t wait to test ‘em all out.
The weekend wouldn’t be complete with an awesome trail run/hike at the Table Mesa trail. The views in Colorado don’t disappoint. I can see why so many people love it out here.

Can’t wait to see the whole crew again at my first Rev3 race of the year – Quassy. It is going to be an awesome race season.
